The Miracle Worker

My friend and I went to see The Miracle Worker on Broadway last week.

Abegail Breslin was fantastic! I don’t know how she musters up the character every night, it’s a tremendous feat. The Miracle worker was staged in the round, which I loved. In all my years of performing,I have always enjoyed performances in blackbox theatres over those of the grandious proscenium arch.

This show, is not your feel good kind of show, which in today’s ‘get-it-right-now‘ world is a tough sell. But this show is intelligent, and engaging and tells a wonderful story. The Miracle Worker is great for middle/high school ages and above. First of all this is a classic story that everyone knows, second, school aged kids will probably have to read this and what a great visual to go with the book. I remember having to read about Helen Keller in school…anyone else?

I hope you get to go see The Miracle Worker, I have some fun perks for you.
